How to use SpotPris
A complete guide to monitoring and saving on electricity
1. Viewing electricity prices
Start by selecting your country (Sweden or Norway) from the navigation bar. Then choose your electricity zone from the dropdown to see prices specific to your region. The main chart shows hourly spot prices for today. If tomorrow's prices are available (after ~13:00 CET), you can toggle between today and tomorrow.
You can always switch the electricity zone from the dropdown without reloading the page. SpotPris saves your choice locally and automatically selects the correct zone on your next visit.
2. Understanding the price chart
The bar chart displays the spot price in öre/kWh (Sweden) or øre/kWh (Norway) for each hour of the day. Color coding helps you quickly identify price levels: green = cheap, yellow = medium, red = expensive. The current hour is highlighted. Below the chart you see the daily low, average, and peak price.
Hover (or tap a bar on mobile) to see the exact price for that hour. The current electricity price is also shown in real time in the stats panel above the chart.
3. Setting price alerts
Click Settings (gear icon) to configure alerts. You can set a high price threshold (e.g. 150 öre) to receive a notification when the price exceeds it, and a low price threshold to be notified when electricity is especially cheap. Daily summary alerts send you the full price overview at your chosen time each morning.
You can set quiet hours (e.g. 23:00–07:00) during which no real-time alerts are sent, regardless of price. This is especially useful for SMS alerts if you do not want to be woken up at night. Daily summaries can be configured to only send when the price exceeds your high threshold.

5. Install SpotPris as an app (PWA)
iOS (Safari): tap the Share button → "Add to Home Screen" → Open from your Home Screen.
Android (Chrome): tap the menu → "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app".
Once installed, SpotPris works like a native app and supports push notifications even when not actively browsing.
SpotPris works offline to display the last cached prices. Push notifications via PWA require the app to be installed on the home screen (iOS requires Safari). Android supports full push without extra installation.
